Neil is a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada. He is happiest sitting among a group of strangers in a dark theatre watching one of his plays.
An award-winning playwright and screenwriter based in Calgary, on a "normal" day, Neil can be found providing creative services as writer-director-producer to joe media group, where he spent two seasons as head writer for the Food Network series Fixing Dinner.
Neil has taught playwriting at Mount Royal University and Red Deer College, serves on the board of Alberta Playwrights Network and sat on the National Council for the Playwrights Guild of Canada. Often described as quirky, comic, and absurd, his plays have been produced across Canada and as far away as Scotland.
Neil is also an accomplished set and lighting designer, props builder, and scenic carpenter. When not working on one of his own plays, or work projects, or spending time with his family, or walking his dog, or renovating his basement, or playing hockey, Neil will most likely be found in a dark theatre teching a show, or on Twitter.
